Innovative Strategy Commentary for #4 - Celebration Presentation

In week 9 of my Health Education and Promotion (GCH 350) course, I start my weekly lecture with sunglasses, a microphone and the song “Celebration” playing the background.

I changed the words in the song to correspond with the topic for the week which is, Learning Styles and Methods of Instruction.

This attention grabber models best practices in online instructional design by demonstrating how lessons can be engaging, interactive, and memorable.  Through the intentional use of humor and creativity, I model strategies for capturing students’ attention, sustaining engagement, and tailoring instruction to the needs and preferences of the target audience.  In the online learning environment, these approaches help humanize the instructor, foster a sense of community, and promote active, meaningful learning.
